UDC Falls to Central State, 100-81, in Season Opener

Shepherdstown, WV: November 15, 2008—The Central State University Marauders ruined the season opener for the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds by defeating them 100-81 this afternoon during the Clarion Hotel Classic in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Robert Harris led the Marauders with 24 points in 27 minutes of play.

UDC senior transfer Kechan Myers led the Firebirds with the game high 32 points in the losing effort. Only two Firebirds were in double figures, while the Marauders got balanced scoring from five players, who were in double figures. Central State led 50-36 at the break and scored 50 more points in the second half, while shooting 56% in two-point field goals for the game.
The Classic continues on Sunday, November 16, with the Firebirds taking on the Shepherd University Rams in the consolation game.
