Quadire Truesdale Earns ECC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week

WEST BABYLON, NY – The University of the District of Columbia's Quadire Truesdale has earned East Coast Conference Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts during the week ending November 18th.

Truesdale, from his point guard position, registered 11 rebounds (10 on the defensive glass), six steals and two blocked shots to help UDC claim back-to-back wins vs. Bloomfield and Slippery Rock.

The senior out of Philadelphia, Pa. also added 11 points and 11 assists offensively during the week, including a career-high eight assists in the Firebirds' 83-77 win vs. Bloomfield. He also had a career-high nine rebounds, two blocks and two steals in that contest.

Following his stellar performance at Bloomfield, Truesdale registered five points, four steals, three assists and two rebounds in UDC's 64-59 win at Slippery Rock.

Truesdale and the Firebirds will host their season home opener on Tuesday at 7 p.m. vs. Goldey-Beacom College.
