Bakary Coulibaly Named ECC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY - Sophomore electrical engineering major Bakary Coulibaly (Hyattsville, MD - La Lumiere HS) of the University of the District of Columbia men's soccer team was named the East Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the week ending September 9th.

Coulibaly, who is currently tied for 2nd in the ECC in goals (3), registered five points in two wins for the Firebirds last week. He scored two goals in District of Columbia's 3-2 victory over Shippensburg (Sept. 5) and assisted on the only goal of the day in a 1-0 win over Mercyhurts (Sept. 7).

The Firebirds are currently off to a 3-0-1 start to the 2012 season and will visit non-conference foe Holy Family University on Tuesday, September 11th at 4 p.m. They will then come back home to host their first ECC game as a member of the conference on Saturday vs. the No. 22 ranked team in the nation, LIU Post.
