University of the District of Columbia Athletic Department Releases 2nd Firebird Blog Entry

WASHINGTON, DC - The University of the District of Columbia athletic department has released the second entry of the Firebird Blog on March 27th, 2012.

This entry is entitled "Firebirds in the Community - Educational Opportunities Outside the Classroom" and it details the athletic department's student-athlete development and community outreach initiatives throughout the 2011-12 academic year.

"There are many advantages to being located in the nation's capital," Associate Director of Athletics for Marketing and Communications, Matt Rienzo said. "As a department we strive to field competitive teams, to educate our student-athletes, and to expose them to the abundance of cultural and educational opportunities present in one of the greatest cities in the world."
