District of Columbia Men's and Women's Tennis Travels to Philadelphia for the ITA East Regional Championship

PHILADELPHIA - The University of the District of Columbia men's and women's tennis teams will travel tomorrow to Philadelphia, PA to take part in the ITA East Regional Championship.  The East Regional Championship features some of the top men's and women's tennis players from all over the area.

Several members of the men's and women's tennis teams were seeded for this weekend's Regional Championship.  Senior Aleksandar Grabovac (Psychology – Ljubljana, Slovenia/Gimnazija Euro Sola Ljubljana) and sophomore Simon Andersson (Business Management – Ystad, Sweden/Sydskanska Gymnasiet) were awarded the #2 seed in men's doubles action.  Grabovac also received the #7 overall seed for men's singles.  Junior Jessica Nunez (Electrical Engineering – Guayaquil, Ecuador/American School of Guayaquil) will represent the women's team in seeding as she was given the #7 seed in women's singles.  Nunez is also the Preseason ECC Player of the Year.
