Firebirds Battle-Tested in Season-Opener vs. Division I Georgetown

WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia men's tennis team hosted cross town Division I foe Georgetown University in its season-opener on a hot afternoon at UDC Tennis Courts Wednesday and was defeated by the Hoyas, 9-0.

The Firebirds' top singles player, junior Rok Bozic, played perhaps the most competitive match of the day, taking his 2nd set, 6-3 vs. Mike Chen. Ultimately, Chen outlasted Bozic, 7-6(4), 3-6, 10-5.

Georgetown managed to sweep all three doubles matches and all six singles matches, needing just two sets to win five of the six.

The Firebirds are back in action at home on Thursday, September 22nd vs. USciences.
