INDIANAPOLIS – The University of the District of Columbia men's tennis team remained at its Week 1 No. 6 ranking as the NCAA Division II East Region Men's Tennis Week 2 Poll was released on Wednesday, April 12th.

The Firebirds (6-4, 3-1 ECC) were very competitive in a 7-2 loss to the No. 2 ranked team in the East Region, Chestnut Hill College, on Monday, April 10th. UDC won matches at No. 2 doubles and No. 4 singles, and took four of the six singles matches to a 3rd set.

The Firebirds' only two losses this spring have come against No. 1 ranked Queens College (7-2) and No. 2 CHC. They also boast a 5-4 win over No. 7 ranked Merrimack College on March 16th.

UDC clashes with the No. 3 ranked team in the East, New York Institute of Technology, today at 12 p.m. in the Firebirds' regular season home finale.
