District of Columbia Women's Basketball Volunteers at Prince George's Plaza Community Center

HYATTSVILLE, MD – The University of the District of Columbia women's basketball team volunteered at the event "Just Us Girls Overnight Adventure" put on by the Xtreme Teens Program at Prince George's Plaza Community Center on Saturday, September 29th.

Starting at 1:15 a.m., the Firebirds team members ran basketball drills with the participants and acted as referees, coaches and cheerleaders during the game. The participants were young girls ranging in age from 10-16 years old.

"This is our second time participating in this event, and we did the same thing last season," assistant coach Robin Williams said. "The girls always have a great time helping out."
