UDC’s Daeja Quick Earns 2nd Consecutive East Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week

WEST BABYLON, NY – The University of the District of Columbia's Daeja Quick has earned East Coast Conference Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week honors for the 2nd consecutive week.

Quick, a freshman guard out of Pittsburgh, PA, averaged 17.0 points, 5.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals per-game in a 1-1 week for the Firebirds. She led UDC in scoring in both games – scoring 19 points in a UDC win vs. Post, and adding 15 points in a loss vs. Wilmington. She shot 42.9 percent from the field and 83.3 percent from the foul line, and she collected 11 assists, six steals and one blocked shot over the Firebirds' two games last week.

Quick has scored in double-figures in all four UDC games this season, and she currently ranks 4th in the league in scoring with a 15.8 points per-game season average. She is also 3rd in the league in steals with 13, and 9th in assists with 12.

Quick and the Firebirds (2-2) return to action on Sunday, November 26th with a road game at Adelphi University.
