Amherst, N.Y. –  The University of the District of Columbia women's basketball team was defeated 79-47 on the road vs Daemen College in ECC conference action Sunday afternoon.

The Firebirds were led by senior guard Natasha Roy, who finished the game with 10 points and two assists. Junior guard Tyra Coombs almost earned a double-double falling just one rebound and field goal short. She finished the game with eight points and nine rebounds. The Firebirds are ranked 14th in the nation in offensive rebounds and it showed Saturday as the Firebirds outrebounded the Wildcats 16-9 on the offensive backboards. The Wildcats were led by Katie Titus who scored 24 points and four steals. The Wildcats committed more turnovers 17-16 than the Firebirds.
