Sophomore goalkeeper Jada Foy from Orlando, Florida, is also about to start her 2nd season as an experienced player for UDC after starting all 12 games last year and making an impressive 116 saves with only four other goalkeepers in the conference beating that record. Jada stated that, "A captains is consistent, striving to be better for themselves and their team, never letting someone fall behind and earning their leadership everyday, having the accountability to accept their mistakes, but humble enough to not only appreciate the respect you gain but the respect you give."

Junior midfielder Amy Rock of Falls Church, Virginia, will be coming into the 2018 season as one of the leaders with the most experience of the three captains having played two seasons in that time playing 26 games and managing to gather a notable 26 points overall. She will be looking to inspire the Firebirds for more success this spring. Amy told us, "As a captain, I am given the opportunity to build a special bond with each of my teammates that will help them and myself become the best player that we can be.   I hope that my actions will make a significant impact on the team this season, and that with the help of my teammates we can build together a competitive program in the region."

Coach Haase will be expecting the team to be ready and with the captains chosen the program looks to be in full swing for an exciting season ahead. Haase said, "I am very excited to announce Amy, Jada, and Kianna as our captains for the 2018 season.  They are the perfect balance of enthusiasm, competitiveness, and determination that the team needs to push us into the next level.  Having this group of young women as leaders for the next 2 seasons will provide incredible consistency in the culture that we are trying to create here."
