UDC Women’s Tennis Dealt 7-2 Loss in Regular Season Finale vs. LIU Post

WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia women's tennis team was defeated, 7-2 by East Coast Conference foe LIU Post on Saturday afternoon in the Firebirds' regular season finale.

The Firebirds' two points of the afternoon came at No. 3 and 4 singles by junior Paula Avellan and freshman Estefania Castrillon, respectively. Avellan defeated Stanislava Klymova, 1-6, 6-1, 10-3, and Castrillon knocked off Charlotte Hynes, 4-6, 6-4, 10-8.

UDC lost all three doubles matches and four of the six singles matches en route to the 7-2 loss.

UDC (4-3, 4-3 ECC) will be a No. 4 seed in the ECC Championship Tournament hosted by Queens College on October 28th-29th. The Firebirds will face the No. 1 seed, which will either be NYIT or Queens College. Time for the match is yet to be announced.
