The University of the District of Columbia women's tennis team earned a shutout victory sweeping singles play vs East Coast Conference foe Roberts Wesleyan College with a score of 7-0 in the Firebirds home opener Friday afternoon.

The Firebirds improved to 2-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

The Firebirds preformed very well 5 of the top 6 singles players won in straight sets, freshman Joanna Skrzypczynska performed particularly well winning her match in straight sets 6-2, 6-0 over Marousia Bosch

In doubles play, Sophomore Simoné Parn teamed up with Junior Marija Milic to defeat Nthabi Mogopodi And her partner Andrea Gallardo 6-2 to move to 3-0 on the season as a doubles pair

UDC is back in action at home Thursday, September 27th noon as the Firebirds take on USciences.
