Stellah Sang and 4x400 Team Qualify for NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Finals
San Angelo, Texas: May 22, 2009—University of the District of Columbia All American junior runner Stellah Sang (Kapsabet, Kenya) qualified to compete in the 800 meter run of the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships Finals tonight, in San Angelo, Texas, by finishing 4th in the preliminary qualifying run with the time of 2:10.5. It will be Sang’s second consecutive appearance in the National Championships.
The 4x400 meter relay team also qualified to compete in the finals.
They qualified by finishing 4th in their preliminary heat, with the
time of 3:44.14. Members of the team are senior sprinter Cottrell
Martin (Freeport, Bahamas), who ran the first leg, All American
freshman sprinter Kaneesha Hollis (Greensboro, MD), second leg, All
American sophomore sprinter Saleena Green (St. Catherine, Jamaica),
third leg, and anchoring the team was senior sprinter Maurisa
Williams (Sicklerville, NJ).
The Championships 4x400 meter relay final will be run on Saturday,
