Accomplished Arizona Volleyball Recruit, Jazmin Rogers, Signs With University of the District of Columbia
WASHINGTON, DC – Jazmin Rogers, an accomplished Outside out of Tucson, AZ, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball at the University of the District of Columbia in the Fall of 2012.
A team captain for a very competitive Palo Verde High School volleyball squad, Rogers earned a long list of individual awards and recognitions during her final high school season including: AZ Republic All-State 2nd Team, Arizona Daily Star All-Southern Arizona 2nd Team, Tucson Citizen Division 3 All-Southern Arizona 1st Team, AIA Division 3 Section 2 2nd Team, Palo Verde Volleyball Player of the Year and a MAX Preps/AVCA AZ High School Player of the Week honor on Oct. 19, 2011.
"Jazmin impressed me with her composure and ability to see openings on the court," UDC head volleyball coach Sheila Weaver said. "A good passer and defensive player, she will certainly help with our ball control."
Rogers joins a Firebirds squad that earned an 11-22 record last Fall, including a 2-12 league mark in its inaugural season as a member of the East Coast Conference.
Ranked 12th in her graduating high school class, Rogers will study mechanical engineering at the University of the District of Columbia.
