WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia women's cross country team will compete in five meets this Fall, concluding with the East Coast Conference Championship meet on October 22nd, as the schedule was announced Wednesday, August 24th.
The Firebirds will open the season on Saturday, September 10th at the Delaware State Hornet Invitational in Smyrna, DE. Next, they travel to Princess Anne, MD to compete in the Cappy Anderson Invitational on Saturday, September 17th, and then the following week, UDC returns to Smyrna to run the Delaware State Farm Run Invitational on Saturday, September 24th.
After two weeks off, the Firebirds return to action on October 15th at the Delaware State Cross Country Invitational as a final tune-up for the conference championship meet.
Roberts Wesleyan College, the reigning men's and women's cross country as well as men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field ECC champions, will host the ECC Championship meet on Saturday, October 22nd.
Last year, UDC finished 9th of 10 teams at the ECC Championship meet. The Firebirds were picked to finish 9th again in the ECC Preseason poll.
