Lady Firebirds Volleyball Team Opens Season In Tournament

Shepherdstown, WV: August 31, 2008—The UDC Lady Firebirds Volleyball Team opened their regular season this weekend in the Shepherd College Ram Rumble Tournament in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, with an opening round, 3-0, victory over Central State University. Having only six active veteran players, the Lady Firebirds still overwhelmed the Lady Marauders for their first victory of the season.

In the last two rounds, the Lady Firebirds fell to Lock Haven University, 3-0, and Edinboro University, 3-0, as they fought hard against two nationally ranked teams.
