Sixty Firebirds Earn Spot on ECC Commissioner's Honor Roll

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of the District of Columbia Athletics Department continued its tradition of academic excellence as 60 Firebird student-athletes were named to the 2025-26 East Coast Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll, the conference announced this week.

The ECC recognized a total of 1,572 student-athletes across its member institutions who achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher. The Commissioner's Honor Roll serves as one of the conference's premier academic recognitions and reflects the ECC's commitment to fostering success both in competition and in the classroom.

The annual honor, alongside the conference's Scholar-Athlete awards, supports the ECC's mission of developing the total student-athlete and recognizing individuals who excel academically while competing at a high level in their respective sports.

With 60 student-athletes earning recognition, more than half of UDC's student-athlete population achieved the academic standard required for inclusion on the Commissioner's Honor Roll. The accomplishment reflects the culture of academic excellence within Firebird Athletics and the commitment of UDC student-athletes to success both in competition and in the classroom.
