UDC Men's Basketball Sweeps Season Series Against Saints

WASHINGTON, DC- the University of the District of Columbia's men's basketball team completed the series sweep against D'Youville University with a 77-72 victory at home.

Vernon Simmons came off he bench to lead all scorers with a season-high 22 points, while pulling a tied team high eight rebounds, two steals and a block. Eric Morgan Jr posted 16 points and eight rebounds, Tevin Curtis had 15 points and a game high five assists and Hartnel Haye rounded out the double-digit scoring with 14 points and eight rebounds. 

UDC shot the ball at 48.2% from the field and 33.3% from the three point line, while the Saints shot at 32% from the field and 25% from behind the arc. DYU outrebounded the Firebirds 51-44 and converted 12 second chance points compared to UDC's eight. The home team dominated with 46 points in the paint compared to the visitors 28.

Up next, UDC (8-11, 6-4 ECC) will host Daemen University on Sunday at 3:00pm.
