Staten Leads Offense in Firebirds 80-67 Victory Over Wolves

Washington, D.C. -The University of the District of Columbia men's basketball team delivered a commanding performance, defeating Cheyney University 80-67 on Wednesday evening at the E.B Henderson Sports Complex. UDC set the tone early, outscoring Cheyney 44-26 in the first half. While Cheyney made a push in the second half, scoring 41 points, the Firebirds held on for the double-digit victory.

Khyrie Staten led all scorers with 24 points, going 11-for-15 from the free-throw line, while also contributing 6 assists and 7 steals. Gene Anderson recorded a double-double with 12 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks, anchoring the Firebirds' presence in the paint. Greg Williams added 14 points, shooting an efficient 6-for-10 from the field.
