Firebirds' Strong Start Falters in 80-72 Loss to Molloy

Washington, D.C. - The University of the District of Columbia men's basketball team came up short in an 80-72 loss to Molloy College in an East Coast Conference (ECC) showdown on Saturday afternoon at the E.B Henderson Sports Complex. Despite a strong first half that saw the Firebirds take a 48-31 lead into halftime, Molloy mounted a second-half comeback, outscoring UDC 49-24 to secure the win.

UDC shot an impressive 51.5% from the field in the opening half, building a 17-point advantage. The Firebirds struggled offensively in the second half, shooting just 31.0% as Molloy surged ahead. Tevin Curtis and Vernon Simmons led the Firebirds in scoring with 16 and 12 points.
