Spence Earns Rookie of the Week, Harrell Named to Honor Roll
Washington, D.C. — The University of the District of Columbia men's basketball program earned ECC recognition from the East Coast Conference, as Oliver Spence was named ECC Rookie of the Week and Michael Harrell earned a spot on the ECC Honor Roll following the Firebirds' 85–74 victory over Roberts Wesleyan.
Oliver Spence turned in a standout performance to claim Rookie of the Week honors, leading UDC with an efficient and impactful outing. The freshman scored 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field, while also contributing five rebounds, two blocks, two assists, and a steal. Spence's poise and productivity on both ends of the floor played a key role in the Firebirds' balanced offensive effort and defensive presence throughout the game.
Michael Harrell was recognized on the Honor Roll after delivering a team-leading performance in the victory. Harrell finished with a game-high 24 points, shooting 8-of-12 from the field, and added eight rebounds and five assists. His ability to score efficiently while facilitating the offense and controlling the glass helped set the tone for UDC's win.
The Firebirds will look to build on this momentum as they continue conference play in the coming weeks.
