WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of the District of Columbia men's lacrosse team hosted Molloy University on Senior Day, falling 23-3 in East Coast Conference action at the UDC Turf Field.
Prior to the game, the Firebirds honored graduate student Ignacio Pericet for his contributions and leadership to the program.
Molloy built an early lead, scoring 10 goals in the opening quarter and extending its advantage to 17-2 by halftime. Despite the deficit, UDC continued to compete and found the back of the net three times.
Myles Henry opened the scoring for the Firebirds in the second quarter off an assist from Amarius Sekajipo. Nehemiah Humphries followed with an unassisted goal, while Kelvin Pham added a fourth-quarter goal to round out the scoring for UDC.
Sekajipo led the team with two assists, while Henry, Humphries, and Pham each recorded a goal.
Defensively, the Firebirds collected 29 ground balls, with multiple players contributing across the field in a full team effort.
The Firebirds will close out the season next Saturday as they travel to Frostburg State for their final game of the year.
