Firebirds Close Out Season at Frostburg State

FROSTBURG, Md. – The University of the District of Columbia men's lacrosse team closed out its 2026 season with a 15-3 road contest against Frostburg State on Saturday afternoon at Bobcat Stadium.

The Firebirds struck first, as Joshua Copeland found the back of the net early in the opening quarter to give UDC a 1-0 lead. Frostburg State responded with a strong offensive push, scoring six goals in the first quarter and building an 8-1 advantage at halftime. 

UDC continued to battle throughout the second half, with Alan Fuentes and Amarius Sekajipo each adding fourth-quarter goals. Copeland, Fuentes, and Sekajipo accounted for the Firebirds' three goals on the day.

Defensively, goalkeeper Israel Amajioyi recorded 16 saves while facing 31 shots on goal, anchoring the Firebirds in net against a high-volume Frostburg State attack. 

The Firebirds collected 42 ground balls as a team, with Myles Henry leading the way with a game-high 12 ground balls. 

The Firebirds wrap up the 2026 season and look ahead to continued growth moving forward.
