    Germantown, MD: October 27, 2007—Junior midfielder Guswende Kyemtore sent the ball to the back of the net in the 4th minute of overtime to give the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds a 2-1 win over the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown Mountain Cats this afternoon at the SoccerPlex in Germantown, Maryland. It was Kyemtore’s 4th goal of the season.

    Shippensburg, PA: October 18, 2007—The Shippensburg University Red Raiders downed the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds, 6-1, in soccer this afternoon in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. Sophomore defender David Agbaza scored the lone UDC goal in the 34th minute, on an assist from junior midfielder Gueswende Kyemtore.

    Takoma Park, MD:October 12, 2007—In an exciting action filled soccer match, the Columbia Union College Pioneers slipped a win in over the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds this afternoon in Takoma Park, Maryland. With the score knotted 2-2, and eight minutes remaining in the match, Se-Eun Park took a cross from Bijan Namdar and booted the winning goal to give the Pioneers the 3-2 victory.
  • UDC Defeats Goldey-Beacom, 2-1, in Soccer

    Wilmington, Delaware: October 10, 2007—Junior defender Diego Lahaye led the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds to their second win of the season by defeating the Goldey-Beacom Lightning, 2-1, this afternoon in Wilmington, Delaware. Lahaye scored both UDC goals in the win, with the first coming in the 64th minute with an assist from junior mid-fielder Myron Douglas, and the second in the 77th minute unassisted.

    Germantown, MD: October 9, 2007—Despite a large advantage in shots (20-6), the UDC Firebirds could not convert them into goals and fell to the Chestnutt Hill College Griffins, 1-0, today in Germantown, Maryland. Andrew Thorne took a cross from Carlos Jimenez and scored in the 20th minute to give the Griffins the win.

    Washington, DC: October 6, 2007—Junior Myron Douglas kicked the tie-breaking goal in the 3rd minute of double overtime on a cross assist from Kendel Penny to give the University of the District of Columbia the victory over Bloomfield College this afternoon in Washington, DC. This was the first win of the season for the Firebirds.

    Germantown, MD: September 21, 2007-- The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Soccer Team was shutout 6-0 by the Christopher Newport University Captains this afternoon in Germantown, Maryland at the SoccerPlex. The SoccerPlex is serving as the main home field for the Firebirds this year while the UDC soccer field undergoes renovations. CNU jumped on the unsuspecting UDC Firebirds by scoring their first goal in the first minute of the match, when Michael Caro kicked the ball into the back of the net on an unassisted play.

The temporary Firebird home field was more advantageous to the visitors than the Firebirds as they shutout the home team in 95 degree weather.
