Bridgeport, Conn- The University of the District of Columbia's men's soccer team ended their drought with an important win over ECC foe Bridgeport to bring their record 2-6, 1-0 in ECC play.
The Firebirds were led offensively by Danillo Muniz Beserra who scored the first and only goal of the game just 5:37 into the first half. The purple knights took a total of 22 shots, five of which were on goal but never saw the back of the net because Freshman Goalkeeper Javier Abadia came in clutch with the saves.
This was an important win for the Firebirds as the last five games saw tough losses, two of which included playing a man down for an entire half. This win brings their record 1-0 in the conference and 2-6 overall.
