UDC Men's Tennis Season Comes to a Close in Round 1 of the NCAA East Regional Tournament
FLUSHING, N.Y.- the University of the District of Columbia's men's tennis team saw their season come to a close after falling to Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) 4-2 in Round 1 of the NCAA East Region Tournament, Monday afternoon at the QC Tennis bubble.
The Firebirds were able to take the one point advantage into singles play, after Juan Estevez Hernandez and Antonio Simo Durall won the tiebreaker at No.3.
Oskar Karos was the only Firebird to go a perfect 2-0 on the day and picked up UDC's lone singles point at No.4. SNHU went on to win the next four matches to secure their victory and a spot in Round 2 of the Regional Tournament against the No.1 seed and host Queens College.
UDC concludes the season with an 11-10 overall record and 3-3 in Conference play. This also marked their first NCAA Regional Tournament appearance since 2017.
