ETTRICK, Va. – The University of the District of Columbia men's tennis team delivered a dominant performance on Friday afternoon, defeating Virginia State University 6–1 to improve to 2–2 on the season.

UDC opened the match with a strong showing in doubles play. The pair of Sebastiano Palma and Elouan Queguiner set the tone with a 6–0 victory at No. 1 doubles over Bryan Jordan and Justin Jackson. At No. 2 doubles, Filippo Vatteroni and Ambrose Evamy matched the effort with another 6–0 win against Brandon Farmer and Jahbarri Joseph to give the Firebirds an early advantage.

In singles play, UDC continued its momentum, winning five of the six matches.

At the top of the lineup, Sebastiano Palma secured a straight-set victory over Bryan Jordan, 6–2, 6–2, while Elouan Queguiner followed with a commanding 6–2, 6–0 win at No. 2 singles.

Ambrose Evamy added another point for the Firebirds with a 6–1, 6–2 victory at No. 3 singles, and Filippo Vatteroni earned a 6–0, 6–3 win at the No. 4 spot.

Rounding out the scoring for UDC was Ignacio Lopez Fernandez, who claimed a 6–3, 6–1 victory at No. 5 singles.

UDC will open East Coast Conference play next weekend with a two-match road trip. The Firebirds will face St. Thomas Aquinas College on Friday before taking on Queens College on Saturday.
