Firebirds Secure 5–2 Victory Over Daemen in Conference Play
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of the District of Columbia men's tennis team earned a strong 5–2 victory over Daemen University in East Coast Conference action.
The Firebirds set the tone early by claiming the doubles point, winning two of three matches. The No. 1 duo of Sebastiano Palma and Elouan Queguiner delivered a convincing 6–2 win, while Filippo Vatteroni and Ambrose Evamy secured the point with a 6–4 victory at No. 2 doubles.
UDC carried that momentum into singles play, winning four matches to clinch the team victory.
At the top of the lineup, Palma battled through a tightly contested three-set match to earn a 6-4, 1-6, 7-6(5) win at No. 1 singles to clinch the match for the Firebirds. Queguiner was dominant at the No. 2 position, cruising to a 6-1, 6-0 victory.
Evamy showcased resilience at No. 3 singles, rallying after dropping the first set to win 2-6, 7-5, 7-6(5) in another thrilling three-set match. Vatteroni added a decisive win at No. 4 singles with a 6-0, 6-2 performance.
