Evamy Named ECC Co-Player of the Week; Queguiner Earns Honor Roll Honors
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of the District of Columbia men's tennis team earned East Coast Conference weekly honors, as Ambrose Evamy was named ECC Co-Player of the Week and Elouan Queguiner was selected to the Honor Roll.
Evamy delivered a strong week for the Firebirds, finishing 3-1 overall across singles and doubles play. He opened the week with a hard-fought three-set victory at the No. 2 singles position against West Chester (7-5, 7-6(6), 1-0(8)).
Evamy followed with a standout performance in UDC's 4-3 conference victory over Daemen, going 2-0 on the day. He secured a clutch three-set win at the No. 3 singles position (5-7, 7-6(5), 6-1) and added a doubles victory at the No. 2 spot (6-3).
Queguiner also contributed key performances for the Firebirds, going 2-1 on the week in singles play. Competing at the top of the lineup, he earned a straight-set victory at No. 1 singles against West Chester (6-3, 6-1) and followed with another strong showing in the Firebirds' conference win over Daemen, picking up a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 2 singles.
The Firebirds will now shift their focus to postseason play as they prepare for the upcoming ECC Championships.
