Destiny Ryles Earns Third ECC Rookie of the Week Honors; Three Firebirds Make the Weekly Honor Roll

WEST BABYLON, N.Y.- Destiny Ryles was named ECC Rookie of the Week for the third time this season. Kenyon Stone, Latavia Jackson, and Ana Schamens were also named to the weekly honor roll.

Ryles averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 steals, and 2.5 assists per game to help the Firebirds split a pair of conference games on the week. In the game against STAC, she led all scorers with 23 points and added six steals, five rebounds, three assists, and a block. In the win over Mercy, she had 14 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Jackson averaged 20.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game to help the Firebirds split a pair in the last two games of the regular season. In the game against STAC, she scored 20 points and added four rebounds, three steals, and two assists. In UDC's win over Mercy, she posted a game-high 21 points, five rebounds, and two assists.

In the Firebird's win over Mercy, Stone had a game-high 23 points going 7-12 from the field and a perfect 7-7 from the foul line. He also grabbed nine rebounds and added two assists. 

Schamen's had two hat tricks on the week in the games against Felician and Post. She also registered an assist in both games to total eight points on the week.
