UDC Women's Basketball Claims 6th Seed in Upcoming ECC Post-Season Tournament

Washington, DC- For the fourth consecutive season, the Firebirds will be competing in the ECC Championship tournament, earning the #6 seed after falling to Molloy University in their regular season finale, earlier today in N.Y. The Firebirds close out the regular season with an 8-8 conference record and 10-16 overall record. 

#6 Firebirds will head to #3 Mercy on Wednesday March 5th to compete in the quarterfinal. Winner of that game will move on to play Staten Island in the semi finals up at host school  and #1 Daemen University in Amherst N.Y.

Each game of the championship will be broadcast live on the ECC Sports Network. The games will also be available on the ECC Network app. Download the ECC Network app on any Apple or Android mobile device or on Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, and Roku OTT streaming devices.

First Round – Wednesday, March 5 at No. 3 and No. 4 seeds
7:00 PM – No. 6 District of Columbia vs. No. 3 Mercy (@ Dobbs Ferry, NY)
7:00 PM – No. 5 Molloy vs. No. 4 D'Youville (@ Buffalo, NY)

Semifinals – Saturday, March 8 (@ No. 1 Daemen)
12:00 PM – Winner of No. 5 Molloy/No. 4 D'Youville vs. No. 1 Daemen 
2:30 PM – Winner of No. 6 District of Columbia/No. 3 Mercy vs. No. 2 Staten Island 

Final – Sunday, March 9 (@ No. 1 Daemen) 
12:00 PM – Winners of the Semifinals
