BUFFALO, N.Y.- The University of the District of Columbia's women's lacrosse team fell to D'Youville University 3-18, in their conference opener, Saturday afternoon at Dobson Field. The Firebirds fell to 0-1 in conference play while the Saints improved to 1-0.
Jada Williams scored the Firebirds three goals on the day, and won a team-high three draw controls. She scored a goal in each of the first three quarters, one of which was off a free position shot and the other two unassisted.
UDC was able top clear the ball 8-10 times, but was plagued by turnovers (20). The Firebirds took only nine shots compared to the Saints 32.
Up Next UDC (1-6, 0-1 ECC) will head back to N.Y. next Saturday (25th) to face off against Molloy University on their second round of conference play.
