ELKINS, W.VA.- the University of the District of Columbia's women's lacrosse team fell to Davis & Elkins 11-22, Friday night at Nuttall Field.
Jada Williams posted seven points on six goals and an assist while winning a game-high nine draw controls. Freshman, Keliah Tucker scored her first two goals as a Firebird while picking up a team-high five ground balls and forcing three turnovers. Michelle Mitchell also netted her second hat trick of the season. Natalia Perkins made a game-high 21 saves.
The home team outscored UDC 11-3 in the opening quarter. The Firebirds best offensive quarter came in the fourth where they outscored the Senators 5-4.
Both teams were even in draw controls at 18 apiece but the Senators led the game in ground balls (25-11), shots (51-27) and clears (27-27 - 17-27).
Up next, UDC (0-2) will hed to Felician on Monday with a tip-off time of 4:00pm.
