Gunter Scores First Career Hat Trick in Firebirds Loss to Davis & Elkins

Washington, D.C. – The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds put up a strong effort against Davis and Elkins but ultimately fell 25-7 in their matchup at the UDC Turf Field. UDC was led by standout performances from Grace Hall, Najee Gunter, and Michelle Mitchell.

Davis and Elkins started strong, dominating the first quarter with seven unanswered goals. However, the Firebirds responded in the second quarter, netting four goals to get on the board. Michelle Mitchell struck first at the 12:45 mark, followed by Grace Hall, Najee Gunter, and another goal from Mitchell just before halftime.

UDC continued to fight in the third and fourth quarters, with Hall and Gunter each finding the back of the net once more. Gunter converted on a free-position shot to score UDC's final goal of the game at the 13:57 mark in the fourth quarter.
