Zelentsova Named ECC Player of the Week; Bastin Earns Honor Roll Recognition

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The University of the District of Columbia Women's Tennis team continued its strong fall campaign this week as Polina Zelentsova was named the East Coast Conference Player of the Week, while teammate Célia Bastin earned a spot on the ECC Weekly Honor Roll following dominant performances in the Firebirds' victory over Millersville University.

Zelentsova went 2-0 on the day, teaming up with Celia Bastin for a hard-fought 6-4 doubles win over Millersville's Lauren Hayes and Madison Hayes, before clinching the match with a composed 7-6 (3), 6-3 singles victory over Lauren Hayes at the top of the lineup.

Bastin also turned in a strong performance at No. 2 singles, defeating Marian Hayes in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2, to help secure the team victory.
