Kyndra Hines Earns Second-Team All-American Honors at NCAA Indoor Championships

WASHINGTON, D.C. – University of the District of Columbia sophomore Kyndra Hines earned Second-Team All-America honors after competing in the 60-meter hurdles at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Hines finished 12th in the nation among a field of 18 of the top hurdlers in Division II, crossing the line in 8.55 seconds.

Hines entered the national championship meet after qualifying with a school-record time of 8.52 seconds, which ranked among the top times in the country and secured her spot in the national field. She also made history earlier this season by becoming the first Firebird student-athlete to qualify for nationals in the 60-meter hurdles.

The sophomore standout capped a historic indoor campaign that saw her win East Coast Conference titles in both the 60-meter hurdles and the 60-meter dash, while also finishing the season as the East Region champion in both events.

Hines also became the first UDC track & field student-athlete to compete at the NCAA Indoor Championships since 2014, marking another milestone for the Firebirds program.

Her All-America recognition highlights a breakout season for Hines and continues the upward momentum of the UDC track & field program as the Firebirds prepare for the upcoming outdoor season.
