UDC Women's Track & Field Achieves Season-Best Performances and Personal Records at Maryland Invitational
College Park, Md.- The University of the District of Columbia (UDC) Women's Track & Field team delivered an impressive performance at their latest meet, showcasing strong individual efforts, season-best marks, and personal records.
Samantha Morrison led the way in the 800m, finishing 8th with a personal-best time of 2:20.28, followed by senior Ayesha Jarrett (2:30.73) and freshman Yalix Lina, who also achieved a PR with a time of 2:32.10.
Kyndra Hines placed 16th place in the 200m with a time of 26.56 seconds and Junior Kayleigh Shelton finished 5th with a season-best time of 15.59s in the 100m hurdles.
Zoe Shaw impressed in the triple jump, claiming first place with a mark of 11.37m, which was #25 among NCAA Division II. She also placed third in the high jump with a clearance of 1.60m, a season best mark.
Emmanuela Katou Kouami secured 5th place in the hammer throw with a toss of 45.58m and also recorded a season-best shot put of 10.34m.
The quartet of Morrison, Lina, Iyanna Jackson and Tukey Francis ended the meet, clocking in at 4:02.36 in the 4x400m relay.
The Firebirds will head to Norfolk State on April 4th.
