Hines Named ECC Track Athlete of the Week; Morrison and Cooper Earn Honor Roll Recognition

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of the District of Columbia women's track & field team earned multiple East Coast Conference weekly honors following a strong showing at the Seahawk Invitational, highlighted by Kyndra Hines being named ECC Track Athlete of the Week, while Samantha Morrison and Kayla Cooper were selected to the ECC Honor Roll.

Hines led the Firebirds with a dominant performance in the outdoor season opener, capturing two individual event titles. The sophomore won the 100m hurdles with a personal-best time of 14.51s, while also claiming first place in the 200m (25.94). She additionally played a key role on UDC's first-place 4x100m relay team, which clocked a time of 49.53s. 

Morrison delivered a strong showing in the hurdles, earning a second-place finish in the 400m hurdles with a personal-best time of 1:06.21. Her performance marked a strong start to the outdoor season and positioned her among the conference's top competitors in the event.

Cooper contributed across multiple events, placing second in the 200m (26.42s) and capturing first place in the long jump with a mark of 5.58m.
