Washington, D.C. - The University of the District of Columbia men's basketball team fell to Holy Family University 71-56 on Tuesday evening at the UDC Sports Complex. Despite a strong first half that saw the Firebirds take a 33-18 lead into halftime, Holy Family responded with a dominant second-half performance, outscoring UDC 53-23 to secure the win.
UDC opened the game with a strong showing, leading 33-18 at halftime, fueled by solid defense and efficient offense. However, Holy Family came out firing in the second half, outscoring UDC 53-23 to take control of the game and secure the victory.
Khyrie Staten led the Firebirds with a game-high 20 points, shooting an efficient 7-for-11 from the field and adding 5 free throws. Elijah Crawford contributed 13 points and 7 rebounds, while Tevin Curtis chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds.
Holy Family's Tairi Ketner led the charge with a double-double, recording 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Jason Shields added 14 points and 7 assists.
