UDC Men’s Basketball Battles Nationally Ranked No. 7/8 Daemen in 80-52 Loss

Washington, D.C. - The University of the District of Columbia men's basketball team put up a valiant effort against nationally ranked No. 7/8 Daemen University on Sunday afternoon but ultimately fell 80-52 at the E.B Henderson Sports Complex. The firebirds fall to 1-1 in ECC play while the Wildcats improve to 2-0.

Daemen came out strong, establishing a 36-24 lead at halftime. The Wildcats continued to dominate in the second half, capitalizing on efficient shooting and controlling the boards. UDC struggled to find offensive rhythm but demonstrated grit and determination throughout the game.

Khyrie Staten led the Firebirds with 13 points, while Greg Williams added 11 points and 5 rebounds. Gene Anderson contributed across the board with 4 assists and 2 rebounds. Daemen's Benjamin Bill was the standout performer, finishing with 17 points and 8 rebounds.
