Kaneesha Hollis Receives Women’s Cross- Country Recognition

Washington, DC-April 10, 2011- Kaneesha Hollis ( Criminal Justice- Centreville, MD) , a member of the University of the District of Columbia's Women's Cross-Country Team, was recently recognized for her outstanding contributions to the Team on April 10, 2011, at the University's Athletic Department's Annual Athletic Awards Banquet at Maggiano's in northwest Washington.

Head Cross-Country/Track & Field Coach Alton McKenzie presented the MVP Award to Hollis stating, "Kaneesha Hollis, a two-time track All-American carried over her strength on the track and led UDC on the hills and terrains of cross-country by consistently being the lead runner on the Women's Cross Country Team for the 2010-2011 Season. That effort made her the MVP for Women's Cross Country. With this being her junior season, we look forward to her continued leadership in the future."

Hollis has previously distinguished herself as a member of the University's Women's Track Team in 2009 when she became a Two-Time All American at the USTFCCCA Division II Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Meets.
