UDC Men's Cross-Country Runner Hillary Mugun Places First in Sea Gull Opener
Salisbury, MD: September 4, 2010--University of the District of Columbia Firebirds sophomore Hillary Mugun (Accounting major-Nandi Hills, Kenya) placed first in the Men's portion of the Sea Gull Opener Cross-Country Meet today, outpacing entrants from eight other schools to finish in 25:43 minutes. It was Mungun's first competition as a member of the UDC squad.
UDC Cross-Country Head Coach Jasmine Rogers was extremely happy about Mungun's performance, saying, " I am really excited for the rest of the season. I am glad that he ran so aggressively, particularly against perennial powerhouse Slippery Rock State, because they are typically are very high in the rankings and this performance gives me great feelings for the season."
The Firebirds Men's Cross-Country Team will compete next in the Delaware State Invitational on September 11, in Dover, Delaware.
