Back-to-Back ECC Honor Roll Selections for Hillary Mugun
Washington, DC – For the second straight week, All-American junior Hillary Mugun (Nandi Hills, Kenya) has finished atop the East Coast Conference (ECC) Honor Roll. After posting a 2nd place finish at the Delaware State University Invitational with a time of 16:06 minutes in the 5-kilometer race during Week One, Mugun followed up his performance by finishing 6th with a time of 26:48 minutes in the 8-kilometer race at the C.W. Post Invitational in Week Two.
His Honor Roll selection in consecutive weeks has drawn recognition for the UDC Firebirds during their first year in the ECC. Head Coach Alton Mckenzie was enthusiastic about his top performer. "I am very pleased with Hillary's performance these past two weeks," commented Coach Mckenzie. "He has been a consistent runner, and the ECC has recognized his achievements." He then went on to add, "Hopefully, it is a marker of things to come both for Hillary and the rest of the Firebird runners."
Hillary looks to continue his hot start as he and the Firebirds compete this Friday, September 23 at the Towson State Invitational in Towson, MD.
